If you’re in the mood for a traditional Serbian breakfast we would heartily recommend centrally located “Proleće” restaurant. You can find this gem of a restaurant in Vuka Karadžića 11, right off of the famous pedestrian Knez Mihailova street. The waiters are friendly without being overbearing, the food is reasonably priced and reliably good, and the outside seating is particularly pleasing. They’re open every day from 10 am until 11 pm.
We stopped by on a recent Sunday morning and enjoyed a must have – Bakine Prženice (a savory version of French Toast), and Srpski Doručak (Serbian Breakfast) which included a slice of prosciutto and of bacon, corn bread, fried egg, a piece of traditional cheese, and some tomato and cucumber wedges.
